Common Entry Points for Water

Floor Cracks

Cracks in your concrete floor allow water to come up into your basement during wet weather, and the water can disappear during dry weather.

Cove Joint Seepage

Where your basement walls meet the floor is called the cove joint, and this is susceptible to cracking and leaking. Water can come down behind the walls and seep into your basement through the seam.

Masonry Walls

Cinder block foundations are prone to decay at the joints between blocks. As this breaks down, water can get in and drip down the walls.

Window Wells

For below-grade windows, outside moisture can accumulate in pockets near the window edges. This can degrade the seals, resulting in water leaks, especially during wet weather.
